An extract of what I have posted on GA~GA forums Generals and Colonels only page in new website ... open exposure.
Without too much consternation I’ll say it’s great to be back and enjoying GAG Company, great bunch of people.
Many may ask what happened and I’ll say that it was the right time and the right place with OZI passing leadership to Rocket (Slim) to look to the future
.
There was some discussion in GA about the future prior to Xaph Avatar coming over to GAG, I know Rocket (Slim) is trying hard with GAG to link societies after Xaph (me) kicked up a stink prior to leaving GA .
I took the step of joining GAG to become part of what I believe should be one society. Through participation and chat with you and effort to assist you and let you know that GA Avatars are decent folk I hope we can link well whatever the way things go, coming over I get to know you all and help in game to your experience as well as mine and others!
I will add some historical info to what has happened within the societies of GA~GAG over the past 2 years+….It may be of interest, other long termer's may want to correct me!
GA was originally one society. I joined not long after the former leader Dave Ozi Epsolon converted this society from the British Army, many came over after a battle to get the BA General to secede.
I was mentored by Ozi and I respect him and his partner Missa greatly, sadly they have since left GA recently and moved on to Dark nights.
Many original names are here mostly in GA like Ben Rumsponge and Feonor , some have moved on!
The sister society GAG was historically created due to a difference in skills between members. Pre split there was some discussion about behavior contravening GA rules e.g. Begging and abusive levels of chat. The split on the whole allowed some freedom for GAG members to model their own sister society but allowed the scope to move on . GA separated to allow for better management of skill issues + time zone issues. This lead to bipartisan society management between Dave and Sloe (the then General). Sloe eventually seceded and Keith took the reign of GAG (as far as I understand)
A lot has happened since that split , there has been some continuation of link between GA~GAG , however my observation is that this has been a distancing and did not promote healthy wealthy and wise community of the 2 societies, this is where I formed the opinion that there was need for discussion.
I have been a proponent for the 2 societies being ‘one’ again recently and also from way back, I shot a few sorties about this way back and then shut up! .
Recently I rekindled that approach on a GA leadership challenge based upon my flawed opinion that “Slim was not in” however he was, just in a different time zone.!
Slim, Keith and I have concurred recently on needs for some change!
Slim, Keith and I have discussed this ‘ad nauseum’ , it could take many forms of restitution but on whole I guess it really comes down to the constituents to choose within certain skill constraints that continue the essence of the society as being a “Global Alliance” and not a nuts fight!
The basic choices are :
• Proceed on the current course and stay as is 2 separate societies.
• Proceed on current course and promote and exchange system and remain two separate societies.
• Develop and integration of both societies conducive to skills and Generals
There are many aspects to this discussion, a healthy functional approach is the key, I expect value will come from the older avatars and credit should be given to them for still being in game…wisdom!
